Job Role: Junior Horticulturist – Floriculture / Protected Cultivation

Responsibilities-

Monitor Dutch rose crop growth, development and overall plant health.

Assist in pruning, training, pinching and other crop-management activities.

Monitor irrigation and fertigation schedules.

Conduct regular crop scouting to identify pests, diseases and nutrient deficiencies.

Assist in implementing pest and disease management practices.

Monitor greenhouse/polyhouse temperature, humidity and other growing conditions.

Maintain records of irrigation, fertilizer application, crop growth and pest-management activities.

Assist with harvesting, grading and post-harvest handling of flowers.

Coordinate with farm workers and supervisors to ensure timely completion of horticultural activities.

Support the implementation of standard operating procedures for protected cultivation.

Maintain cleanliness, safety and hygiene standards within the production area.

Prepare daily crop monitoring and farm-operation reports.

Support the horticulture team in achieving crop quality and production targets.

Education-

B.Sc. in Horticulture, Agriculture or a related field.

Diploma in Horticulture/Agriculture may be considered for candidates with relevant practical experience.

Skills:

Candidates with a strong interest in horticulture, floriculture and protected cultivation.

Fresh graduates with relevant academic or practical exposure are encouraged to apply.

Candidates with experience in greenhouse/polyhouse cultivation will be preferred.

Ability to work in a farm and protected-cultivation environment.

Good observation, communication and teamwork skills.

Willingness to learn modern horticultural and floriculture practices.
