Job Description
1. Job Purpose
To lead and manage fertilizer sales, distribution, and field operations within the assigned cluster by ensuring market expansion, farmer outreach, dealer management, field demonstration activities, and achievement of sales targets.
2. Key Responsibilities
Sales & Market Growth

Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for all product lines.

Develop and execute cluster-level sales plans.

Manage and improve sales performance of assigned territories.
-
Identify new markets, dealers, and potential growth areas.
Dealer & Distributor Management
-
Appoint new dealers and support the distributor network.
-
Ensure adequate inventory planning and timely order fulfillment.
-
Conduct dealer meets, product training, and engagement programs.
-
Resolve channel issues and strengthen business relationships.
Farmer Outreach & Field Activities
-
Conduct farmer meetings, field demonstrations, and crop advisory sessions.
-
Promote product usage through field trials and success stories.

Work closely with progressive farmers and FPOs.
-
Increase brand visibility through field campaigns and village-level activities.
Team Management
-
Lead and guide Field Officers / Territory Managers in the cluster.

Monitor field activities, daily sales reports, and performance metrics.

Provide training, mentoring, and motivation to field staff.
-
Review and enhance productivity and effectiveness of the field team.
Market Intelligence & Planning

Gather and analyse competitor data, price trends, market movement.
-
Map cropping patterns, fertilizer consumption, and farmer behaviour.
-
Provide insights for product positioning and new initiatives.
Compliance & Reporting
-
Ensure adherence to company policies, FCO norms, and government regulations.
-
Maintain accurate documentation of field visits, sales reports, and activity logs.

Submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly MIS to management.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications
Education
-
Must: B.Sc Agriculture / Agriculture Science / Horticulture
-
Preferred: M.Sc Agriculture / MBA-Agri Business / Rural Management
Experience
-
5–12 years in the fertilizer, agro-input, seed, or agri-chemical industry.

Experience managing multiple territories and field teams.
Technical Knowledge
-
Soil health and nutrient management.
-
Fertilizer (NPK, WSF, Organic, Bio-fertilizers).

Crop advisory and season-based fertilizer planning.
-
Government compliance (FCO norms).
